Wilma Jeanne Mallette Obituary

Olney, VA - Wilma Jeanne Mallette, 93, passed away from natural causes on November 13, 2025. She was born in Plainville, Indiana, and was a resident of Williamsburg, Virginia, at the time of her passing. Jeanne was a devoted Air Force wife, volunteered for hospice, comforting people during their time of great need, and was active in her church throughout her life.

She will be remembered as a woman who believed in God and had a fierce love for her husband and family. Jeanne was also known for her generosity to others. She would share everything she had. Jeanne was a strong woman. While her husband, Elmer, served in the Air Force, they moved their family over a dozen times. Several of those moves were while Elmer was away on assignments. She was a faithful wife, friend to many, and a second mom to some. She had a great sense of humor, which she kept to the end.

Jeanne is survived by her three children, Steve (Toni), Scott (Kim), and Todd (Bridget). She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Sarah Mallette, Zack Mallette (Darian), Ellie (Brian) Landry, Olivia (Andy) Peralta, Mary Alice Mallette, Connor Mallette, and Claire Mallette, and also three great-grandchildren, Teal and Cypress Mallette-Daroczy and Luca Peralta. She is survived by multiple nieces and nephews, as well as David McBride.

She was raised with love by her grandparents, Lucy "Underhill" and Samuel Reynolds. She also shared a close relationship with her father, Edmond Thomas, and was preceded in death by her mother, Edith Reynolds, her beloved husband Colonel Elmer Mallette, two daughters, Carol and Susan Mallette, her granddaughter Amy Mallette, and grandson Archer Mallette, and nephew Mike Reynolds. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Ruby (Bill) Chestnut, Ruth (Emerson) Shake, Marjorie (Bill) Bedeker, Mary (Virgil) Vaugh, Loren Gene Reynolds (died at birth), Joyce (Ralph) Schnell, and her brother, Samuel Leon Reynolds, Sue (Reynolds) Byrer and her grandparents, Samuel and Lucy Reynolds. Jeanne will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She now rests in eternal splendor.
