Raymond John Arvin
Raymond John Arvin died recently in Santa Monica, California. He was the son of John and Hilda (Strange) Arvin who predeceased him. He was also predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Dennis, and his nephew, John Hovis.
Raymond attended St. John's Elementary and High School in Loogootee and was a 1968 graduate. He was a graduate of Indiana University, where he also received a law degree. He practiced law briefly in Chicago, Illinois, as part of the VISTA program. For the past 35 years he has been a resident of California, where he found a supportive and caring community.
The family would like to give special thanks to Alexandra Paul, who reported him missing and has assisted in the identification of his body.
He is survived by his brother Glen Arvin and sisters Rita Divine, Lois Stickell and Ruth Hovis. He is also survived by three nieces and five nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.
