Mary Ann (Howard) Wyant
Mary Ann (Howard) Wyant 87, of Washington passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Daviess Community Hospital on Friday January 10th 2020 at 9:33 pm. Mary was born April 17th 1932 to Julia (Gladish) Howard and Leslie Howard. She graduated from Petersburg High school in 1950.
Mary met the love her life, Denny Wyant while she worked at Uniroyal for 23 years. The two married on September 26th 1952. They had three children where they raised in Washington, Indiana. Their two sons, Greg Wyant, Brent Wyant and a daughter Lisa (Arbaugh) Wyant.
Mary loved working with her hands. She was frequently sewing anything from dresses to curtains along with painting and planting flowers. Mary started her 25 year career selling Home Interiors and Gifts in 1979. She loved helping people. She was generous in applying her artful touch in making things beautiful.
Mary was a member of Washington Assembly of God Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband Denny L Wyant, sons; Greg Wyant and Brent Wyant; parents; Julia Carey, Leslie Howard, stepfather Edgar Carey and sibling Charles Howard. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Michael Arbaugh of Washington; grandchildren, Brian Arbaugh and wife Kelley, Kirby (Arbaugh) Risch and husband Ryan, Jenna (Arbaugh) Clouse and husband Jarit, Mallory (Wyant) Cornelison and husband Keegan; eight great grandchildren; a sister Donna (Carey) Frederick, and brother Richard Carey.
The funeral service will be Wednesday at 11:00 A. M. at Gill chapel, with Pastor Jeff Frederick officiating. Burial will be in Hamline chapel Cemetery. Visitation is from 4:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M on Tuesday and after 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday at funeral home. Condolences may be made to the family at www.gillsince1872.com.
