Washington - Marilyn (Morey) Dougherty,90, Washington, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Daviess Community Hospital.

She was born October 14, 1935, in Jordan Village, Indiana, to Paul and Clara Bell (Frankenberger) Morey. Marilyn dedicated many years of service as a store manager for Hallmark in Washington, where she was known for her kindness and strong work ethic.

Marilyn found joy in life's simple pleasures. She enjoyed watching Fox News, reading western novels, and working on jigsaw puzzles.

Marilyn is survived by her loving children: Morey (Gayle) Barnes and Janet (John) Burks, both of Ellettsville, and Sandra (Jim) Farley of Washington. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Rebecca (Bryan) Myers, Matthew (Maggie) Burks, Garrett (Jennifer) Dunn, Jack (Miranda) Dunn, James (Jenny) Farley, and Jaden (Kelsey) Farley;and great-grandchildren: Jacob Murphy, Madison Burks, Miley Burks, Mackenzie Burks, Mason Burks, Kassandra Dunn, Gunner Dunn, Auhston Dunn, Kaydence Dunn, Wyatt Dunn, Addilynn Dunn, Jagger Farley, Jedson Farley, and Faye Fisher.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, LaVonne Younker, Doris Burkett, Jeanette Branson, and Betty Downes Duffer; and grandson, Seth Patterson.

Graveside services will be held at Riverside Cemetery at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 14, 2026. Pastor Steve Von Bokern will officiate.
