Loretta K. Harting
Loretta "Lori" K. (Arney) Harting, 63, of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2020. She was born in Washington, Indiana, on July 18, 1956, to Charles F. and Donna L. (Warner) Arney. She graduated from Loogootee High School in 1974. She received her bachelor's degree from University of Indianapolis in 1978 and her master's from Indiana University in 1979. Lori married John C. Harting on Sept. 3, 2005, in Greenfield.
She was a physical education and health teacher for Indianapolis Public Schools from 2001-2015. She was also an aquatics safety specialist for American Red Cross of Greater Indianapolis from 1995-2000. Lori was a member of Cumberland First Baptist Church. She was a union representative for the Indiana State Teachers Association and a lifeguard instructor trainer and water safety instructor trainer for the American Red Cross. She liked teaching Zumba and water aerobics. She was an avid Colts fan. She was also a breast cancer survivor. Most of all, Lori loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and living on her farm.
Lori is survived by her husband, John Harting of Greenfield; son Morgan (Mark) Whitacre of Indianapolis; daughter Erin Marie (Jamison) Sills of Fishers; grandchildren Caleb, Maddelyn and Evelyn; and a sister, Karen (Gary) Morron of Odon, Indiana. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Donna Arney.
A private celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are being handled by Erlewein Mortuary and Crematory in Greenfield.
