Linda Sue Myers, 81, Washington, passed away at her home on March 1, 2025. She was born in Huntington,Indiana, May 27, 1943, to the late Harry and Mary (Turpin) Allen. Linda graduated from Darlington High School and continued her education at Franklin College, where she received a bachelor's degree in social work.

She married L. Rex Myers on August 11, 1990. Linda proudly worked for Indiana Soldier's and Sailor's Children's Home in Knightstown, for 25 years before her retirement. Linda was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, former sitting board member of Our Community Foundation, and was involved in numerous clubs and organizations over the years.

When Linda had free time, she enjoyed filling it with volunteer work throughout her community, reading, spending time with her grandchildren, and being involved with her church. Linda also helped create a grief share program at her church to help anyone suffering with lose. She will be deeply missed.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Mary Allen; husband L. Rex Myers.

She is survived by her son John (Andrea) Gere; grandchildren Austin (Madalin Dant) Gere, Abrielle (Nathan Strange) Gere, Anniston Gere, Asher Gere; companion George Summers; and numerous friends.

Goodwin-Sievers is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. Myers. Visitation will be held March 5, 2025, from 5 to 8 p.m. and March 6, 2025, from 10 am to service time at Goodwin-Sievers, 2020 State Street. The funeral service will begin promptly at 11 a.m. with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery following.
