John Cannon Obituary

Petersburg - John E. Cannon, 66, of Petersburg, passed away March 17, 2026. He was born October 21, 1959 to Thomas and Betty (Gilley) Cannon in Washington. John graduated from Washington High School Class of 1978. He worked as a bricklayer for Bosecker Masonry. He loved playing sports with his grandson Dax and working at the family farm. When he got a chance he enjoyed going mushroom hunting or fishing with his friend Keith.

John is survived by his son, Cody Cannon; daughters, Chelsea (Chris) Yon and Kyleigh (Nick) Kluemper; grandchildren, Daxyn Yon, Kaebri Yon, Tinsley Kluemper and Tate Kluemper; brother, Brian Cannon; sisters, Carol (David) Huxhold, Jane (Bill) Myers, and Laura (Phil) O'Haver; several nieces and nephews; his co-worker and best friend, Keith Bosecker; and his partner in crime, Benny the dog.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

In memory of John we will end with using one of his famous "one liners" and just say that he will be missed i'magin.

Services for John will take place at 11 AM EST, Wednesday, March 25, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, with visitation from 3 - 7 PM EST on Tuesday, March 24, and from 8 AM until service time on Wednesday. Burial will follow at Willis Cemetery in Petersburg. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
