Eva Kozsan Obituary
Jasper, Indiana - Eva Kozsan, 69, a resident of Jasper, Indiana, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026, at the Evansville Protestant Home. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends following a long, courageous battle with an illness.
Eva was born in Livada, Romania, on December 20, 1956, to the late Mihai and Iuliana (Vrancsik) Struczuj. In 1990, showing immense bravery and devotion to her family, Eva sold everything she owned to immigrate to Washington, Indiana. She came to the United States with her two children to reunite with her husband, who had arrived one year prior, to build a new life together. Eva resided in Washington for 10 years before moving to Jasper, where she lived for 26 years.
Eva was a loving wife, dedicated to family, and a deeply caring soul to everyone she met. A true fighter, she never complained throughout her illness. She cherished family gatherings and treasured the time spent sharing dinners with those she loved. An avid gardener, she found great joy in growing beautiful flowers. Eva also had a deep affection for cats, especially Stella.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 49 years, Vasile Kozsan; daughter and son-in-law, Csilla and Brian McKinley; son, Robert C. Kozsan; granddaughter, Nina S. McKinley; sister and brother-in-law, Iuliana "Baba" and Erno Erdie; brother, Mihai "Miss" Struczuj; in-laws, Miklos and Anna Kozsan, Joseph and Maria Kozsan, and Janos Savel; nieces and nephews, Lorant Erdei, Szilard Struczuj, Zsuzsa Struczuj, Erika (Savel) Nyulas, Annamaria Kozsan, Sandu Kozsan, Sanda (Kozsan) Buzduceanu, and Andrea (Kozsan) Bencze.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents, Mihai and Iuliana Struczuj; sister-in-law, Maria (Kozsan) Savel, and by her sister-in-law, Melinda (Lukcas) Struczuj.
