Douglas Gordon Coatney
Douglas Gordon Coatney, 64, of Danville, passed away Oct. 17, 2019. Born Sept. 03, 1955, in Washington, Indiana, he was the son of the late James Arthur and Nancy Caroline (Shake) Coatney. Doug married Rebecka Ann Lofton on Aug. 3, 1996, in Danville.
He received his master's degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. Doug retired from Duke Energy on Dec. 1, 2010, as the manager of project controls. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Sons of Amvets and the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecka Coatney of Danville; daughters Erica Lynne Coatney of Indianapolis, Lisa Marie Logsdon of Danville; son Bradley Michael Bailey of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Bryce Philip Logsdon and Colson Douglas Logsdon; brother Christopher Charles Coatney (Terri); sister Catherine Ann Burkhart (Robert); uncle Frederick Richard Coatney and aunt Mary Jane Gilliatt (John).
Services will be held at noon Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2019, in Baker Funeral Home, Danville, with burial to follow in the Danville South Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019, in the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at
