Donna Bullock
Donna Louise Bullock, 84, of Indianapolis, Indiana, peacefully passed into our Lord's comfort and care on March 12, 2020. Donna was born Feb. 6, 1936, to Joseph Earl and Lena Katherine (Rodgers) Bullock in Washington, Indiana, where she grew up and started her family. She and her family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1964. During her time in Albuquerque, she was quite accomplished, having received a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in education from the University of New Mexico and successfully establishing a career as a language arts middle school teacher. Upon retirement, Donna returned to her Indiana roots 37 years later and joined the community at Autumn Glen in Indianapolis.
In her younger years, she enjoyed the wide-open spaces and mountains of New Mexico, swimming, square dancing, crossword puzzles and gardening. She had a thirst for knowledge and education and loved reading, especially history, religion and philosophy. Donna has been a lifelong member of the Catholic church and most recently was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Indianapolis.
Donna is survived by her sons, Deacon Michael J. (Anne) Wise of Bossier City, Louisiana, and James A. (Dr. Renee Willis) Wise of Little Rock, Arkansas; daughters Deborah L. (Raymond) Turner of Greenfield, Indiana, and Dr. Emma K. (Dr. Bryan) Dutton of Monmouth, Oregon; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother Roger (Cindy) Bullock of Evansville, Indiana; sisters Doris (Jack) Ott of Englewood, Florida, and Janice (Ron) Mitchell of North Port, Florida; and her most beloved dog, Phoebe May. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lena Bullock; husband William Vollendorf; son Paul Wise; great-grandson Manuel Robles; and brother Michael Lee Bullock.
A private family celebration of life will be held at St. John's Cemetery in Washington, Indiana, where Donna will be laid to rest.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to Holy Spirit Catholic Church and/or School, located at 7243 E. 10th St., Indianapolis, IN 46219 or any St. Vincent de Paul.

I’m so glad, that Donna was a part of get togethers with my family. Our shared family gatherings allowed us to get to know her and her sense of humor. She never seemed to be close to her age. We will all miss her

Aunt Donna will truly be missed. I always think of the time I got to visit her years ago in Albuquerque. She reminded me so much of Grandma. Love sent to all of you
