Barbara Lou Wildridge
Barbara Lou (Bromn) Wildridge, 90, passed away peacefully Oct. 30, 2019, at Emerald Place Senior Living in Washington, Indiana, surrounded by loving family.
Barbara was born in Bedford, Indiana, on Feb. 24, 1929, to Louie and Maxine Bromn. Barbara moved with her family from Bedford to Washington in the early 1940s and was a graduate of Washington High School. She met the love of her life, Ellsworth "Bud" Wildridge, in 1949 and they were married July 1, 1950. They raised two sons, Timothy Ellsworth and Paul Michael Wildridge. Barbara worked in the catalog department of Penney's Department Store for many years until her retirement. She also volunteered for many years as a Red Cross gray lady and other volunteer service at the Daviess Community Hospital. Barbara loved cooking and baking, especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas, and kept an immaculate house. Those holidays in her home were a very special treat for family; they were filled with love and the wonderful smells and tastes of her holiday cooking. Barbara loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who loved the babysitting sleepovers, especially the pancake, bacon and egg breakfasts that she would cook for them. Barbara and her husband Bud enjoyed a long and happy retirement together and they loved traveling to Florida for vacations and to many other parts of the county for his Navy reunions.
Barbara is survived by her sister, Phyllis Alford; brother Kenny Bromn (Brenda); sons Timothy Ellsworth Wildridge (Ellen) and Paul Michael Wildridge (Cheri); grandchildren Matthew Wildridge, Ian Wildridge, Jessica Wilhite (Josh), and Paul Wildridge (Katie); great-grandchildren Kelsi, Aleah, Sutton, Joseph and Amelia.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Bud Wildridge on Aug. 9, 2019; and her parents Louie and Maxine Bromn.
A funeral service for Barbara will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019, at Gill Funeral Home, with visitation from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service, with Yvonne Evans officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery. You may leave an online condolence at www.gillsince1872.com

We always remember Barbara and her working at J. C. Penney's and showing kindness to everyone she met. Pat worked at the Daviess County Hospital along side of Barbara. She was always such a pleasant person. We will miss her and offer prayers for all her family.
