Ruth Margaret Taylor, 97, of Washington, passed away at 1:45 a.m. Friday, July 28, 2017, at Hillside Manor in Washington.
She was born Oct. 4, 1919, to Bernard and Maud (Godwin) Spalding.
Ruth retired from Uniroyal and was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Washington, where she was current president of the Presbyterian Women's Association locally. She also belonged to Tri Kappa, the Browning club, and was a graduate of Washington High School. She enjoyed her extended family and showed her appreciation by giving back to her family and friends.
Surviving are her niece and nephews, Bernie Spalding of Washington, Bruce and Janet Spalding of Indianapolis, and Carlene Jones of Martinsville; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and one great-great-nephew.
Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, David S. Taylor, who preceded her in December of 2008; a brother, Carl Spalding; and a sister, Helen Spalding Reynolds.
Funeral services for Ruth will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Cheryl Thorne officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Westminster Presbyterian Church or the Humane Society.
