Robert C. Curry Jr., 86, of Jefferson City, Tennessee, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, September 5, 2017.
He retired after 30 years of honorable service as an MCPO from the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Plainville Lodge 678 F&AM. Robert also had a passion for fishing, nature and people. He loved helping others and will be missed by many.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Pearl Curry; and son Rex Curry.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Donna Curry; son Kenneth Curry; daughter Monette (Gerry) Tilson of Jefferson City; grandchildren, Michael (Christina) Curry of Jefferson City, Mark (Leigh) Curry of Knoxville, Tennessee, and April (Andrew) Bateman of Meridian, Mississippi; great-grandchildren Tyler and Riley Curry of Jefferson City, Hunter Fuller and Andrew Bateman Jr. of Meridian, Chase Curry and Cassidy Curry of Knoxville, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews of Washington.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to special friends Jim and Diane Bowser for all their help and friendship and to Amedisys Hospice for their care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior project.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, with military honors provided by VFW Post 5266 and Rev. Mike Hensley officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Fielden Funeral Home in New Market, Tennessee.
