Richard's Story

Richard W. Inman, 70, of Worthington, passed away peacefully at 5:25 a.m. Monday at his residence. He was born Dec. 17, 1946, the son of Otha Inman and Anita May (Stewart) Inman.
Richard was raised on a small farm in the Nine Mile community. He was a 1964 graduate of Switz City Central High School. He retired in 2002 after 36 years of service from Crane Army Ammunition Activity as a supervisor of the planning and control division. Following his retirement, he worked as a driver for New Fashion Pork in Worthington for 15 years.
Richard was a member of Nine Mile Methodist Church, Switz City Masonic Lodge, where he served as Worshipful Master in 1975, the Scottish Rite, and the Murat Shrine.
He is survived by his wife, Marita (Hudson) Inman of Worthington; two sons, Rick Inman of Jasonville and Mike (Julie) Inman of Indianapolis; a stepdaughter, Deanna Pershing of Elnora; a brother, John E. Inman of San Diego, California; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother Gary Driver; son Steven Ray Inman; and his special aunts, Elizabeth Johnson and Amy Burrell.
Funeral service will be held at Welch and Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 1 p.m. Saturday. Burial will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery in Lyons.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Greene County Humane Society through the funeral home.
