Philip O. Street, 85, of Loogootee, passed away at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center surrounded by his family.
He was born Jan. 16, 1931, in Martin County.
Philip attended school in Loogootee where he met the love of his life, Virginia R. Tow, whom he married June 11, 1949. Virginia preceded him in death July 15, 2016, after 67 years of marriage.
He had a working career spanning over 50 years at companies including Jasper Novelty, Sarkes Tarzian, Admiral Corporation, LB Price, and Streets Contracting, a business he started and one of his sons still operates today.
Philip had a few hobbies, but truly enjoyed family and fishing trips.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Street; siblings Robert L. Street and Sandra A. Bleemel; and grandchildren Benjamin William and Ryan Philip Street.
Philip is survived by his children, Terry G. (Marsha) Street, Marsha (Joe) Lukomski, Rheta (Doug) Divine, Alan (Patty) Street and Rob (Dee Dee) Street; 11 grandchildren, Karen Wilson, Lane Divine, Joe Wayne Lukomski, Tim Lukomski, Jennifer Sparks, Kyle Street, Kelli Mathies, Teri Becker, Holly Street, Dylan Street and Sara Street; 13 great-grandchildren, Ben Wilson, Ayden Wilson, Maddie Lukomski, Alexandra Divine, Colten Sparks, Cade Wilson, Sam Lukomski, Lili Lukomski, Emilyn Sparks, Josie Mathies, Mason Mathies, Gabriel Street and Garrett Mathies; and siblings Janet Sue Hembree, Ruth Meyer, Harold Street and Vicki Qualkenbush.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee. Burial will follow in Goodwill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
