Carolyn M. Boarman, 73, passed away at her home in Palatak, Florida, on May 7, 2017, after an extended illness. She was born in Washington on April 5, 1944, to Ted and Mary (Kalanquin) Murphy. She graduated from Washington Catholic High School in 1962 and St. Marys School of Nursing in Evansville in 1965. She worked as an emergency and operating room nurse for 30 years at Cape Canaveral, Florida. In 2005, she and her husband moved to Satsum, Florida, where she was active in the parish of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Some of her favorite hobbies were reading, gardening, shrimping, playing cards and an occasional gambling trip.
She is survived by her husband Joseph, whom she married in 1967; two sons, Tim (Gin) Boarman, Matt (Anna) Boarman; daughter Donna Holley; two grandchildren, Morgan Holley and August Boarman; sisters Betty Mathias of Washington, Joan Jones of Naples, Florida, Ruth Veale of Indianapolis, and Marylin Rigo of Las Vegas.
She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers in infancy.
A Funeral Mass was held in Florida on May 13, 2017, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with Rev. Jim May officiating.
