Willard A. Farley, 78, of Plainville, died at 6:45 p.m. Thursday at Good Samaritan Hospital.
He was born May 21, 1939, in Streeter, West Virginia, to James and Della Farley.
A graduate of Hinton High School, he served in the U.S. Army. He had worked at U.S. Gypsum, Superior Steel Ball, Hoover Ball and as a security guard for Securitas. He enjoyed restoring antique gasoline engines and showing them at the White River Valley Antique show in Elnora. He was a life member of the Washington American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Leah (Dougherty) Farley, whom he married Aug. 25, 1972; two sons; one daughter; one stepson; three grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; three sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one stepdaughter; four sisters; and two brothers.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Poindexter-McClure Funeral Home, Washington Chapel, with Bro. Richard Smith officiating. Burial will be in Plainville Cemetery, with military graveside rites.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
