She graduated Shoals High School, was a secretary bookkeeper for Wm. M. Dailey Insurance Co. for eight years, Dallas K. Conalty Insurance Co. for 13 years, Strawn Insurance Agency for three years, and served as bookkeeper for the Martin County Senior Citizens. She was a member of the Hindostan United Methodist Church, where she served many years as organist and Sunday school teacher; was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Washington and Past Noble Grand Mistress of the Rebekah Lodge.
Also preceding her in death are her parents; one son, William Charles Sims; and three brothers, David Bruner, William Bruner and Charles "Bob" Bruner.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews and many good friends.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, at the Hindostan United Methodist Church, with Pastor Marty Evans officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hindostan United Methodist Church.
The Queen-Lee Chapel of the Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes is in charge of the arrangements.
