Violet's Story

Violet June Cook, 85, died at 3:25 a.m. Monday at Washington Nursing Center.
Born June 7, 1931, she was the daughter of George and Grace L. (Licht) Howell.
She was a homemaker and had worked at Howell Trucking for 15 years and in housekeeping at Old National Bank. She was a member of Washington Free Methodist Church.
She is survived by cousins Sharon A. Moseley, Linda Kay Payne, both of Washington, Nancy Jane Miller of Bella Vista, Arizona, Karen J. Savage of Argos, Rita F. Binkley of Fort Myers, Florida, and Richard Lutz of Knox.
Her husband, Raymond W. Cook, preceded her in death in August 2002. Also deceased are her parents and a brother, George Howell Jr.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Poindexter-McClure Funeral Home, Washington Chapel, with Rev. Adam Conder officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
