Vernon Wayne Tingley, 92, of Anderson, passed peacefully Saturday at Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Home in Anderson.
He was born in Hymera to the late Wayne D. and Beulah Stark Tingley.
Vernon was a U.S Army veteran who served proudly in World War II. He worked after his military service for the U.S Navy as an ammunition inspector. He was of the Baptist faith.
Vernon was a proud member of the American Legion, V.F.W., Lion's Club, Elk Lodge, Scottish Rite, and was a Free Mason, all while living in Indiana prior to moving to South Carolina.
Left to cherish the memory of Mr. Tingley are his daughter, Michelle Evans (Neal) of Piedmont; sister Rosemary Saputo (Anthony) of Sun City West, Arizona; grandchildren Ashley Evans of Hodges and Matthew Evans of Piedmont.
A service will be held by family at a later date.
