Shirley A Waltz, 92, of Washington, went to her heavenly home at 5:45 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018.
She was born March 25, 1925, in Washington, to Elmer and Blanche (Wuertz) Emmick.
She farmed right alongside her husband on the family farm north of Washington. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella.
She is survived by three daughters, Judi (Pat) Meade, Mary Jo Ann (Leo) Castello, and Elizabeth "Beth" (Jim) Loyd, all of Washington; one son, Michael Waltz of Watseka, Illinois; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Waltz on Jan. 2, 2009, whom she married March 4, 1946. She also is preceded in death by two sons, Patrick H. and Charles E. Waltz; one granddaughter, Brianna Waltz; three sisters, Venita McClellan, Ruby Lemmon and Martha Moss; and two brothers, Jack and Junior Emmick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, with Rev. Paul Ferguson as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the church.
