Ruth Ann Pride, 83, of Odon, Indiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on the morning of Feb. 2, 2019, at Memorial Hospital in Jasper, Indiana. She was born Oct. 5, 1935, in Plainville, Indiana, to William Christy and Susie (Myers) Christy.
Ruth Ann was a graduate of Plainville High School and a member of the Plainville United Methodist Church. She retired in 2006 from her occupation as a sales associate with Walmart.
Family members left behind to cherish her memories include sons Tracy (Marcy) Pride of Washington and Troy (the late Cheryl) Pride of Washington; daughters Christina (Brian Clark) Hume of Jasper, Dee (Dawn Strange) Pride of Batesville, and Twyla (Lisa Patterson) Pride of Odon; grandchildren Tara (John) Smith, Erica Hume, Adrianne Edwards, Tori and Will Pride; great-grandchildren Jax, Gunnar and Hadlee Smith. Ruth is also survived by two sisters, Judy Linthicum of Bloomington and Barbara (Roger) Akester of St. Charles, Missouri, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Ruth Ann is preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service for Ruth Ann will be held at 6 p.m. Wed., Feb. 6, 2019, at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon, Indiana, with Pastor John Christy officiating. Family and friends may call from 3 p.m.. until 6 p.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Ketcham Memorial Center in memory of Ruth Ann.
