Roscoe C. Richard, 90, of Washington, passed away Thursday at
7:35 a.m. at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes.
He was born on Jan. 28, 1927, in Washington to Frank C. and Helen (Scott) Richard. He had attended Jefferson High School and Washington High School. He had worked as a farmhand and laborer. He had been a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Washington Boat Club.
He is survived by one son, Frank E. (Joy) Richard of Washington; one daughter, Sharon M. (Richard) Fitzgerald of Washington; sister, Carolyn Sue Watkins of Rockville; brother, Carroll Eugene Richard of Kokomo; five grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary (Lents) Richard on Dec. 24, 2016, whom he married on Sept. 26, 1946; he was also preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Patty Ann Sullivan, Betty Brady and Thelma Decker; brother, William Richard and infant brother, Frank Richard.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Ed Lee Mortuary
with Yvonne Evans officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will be from noon until the hour of service Monday at Ed Lee Mortuary. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK, 73123.
