Robert  Neidige
Robert Eugene Neidige, 94, of Washington, passed away Thursday, Aug. 22, 2019, at his residence.
Robert was born March 18, 1925, in Washington, to Eva (Messer) and Doyle Neidige. Robert attended Washington Catholic High School. He married Therese Irene (Madden) on Feb. 21, 1950. Robert was a decorated U.S. Army World War II veteran. Robert retired from Vectren. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Knights of Columbus and Eagles. Robert loved hunting, fishing and playing cards.
He is survived by his wife; son David (Mary Jo) Neidige of Washington; sister Patty; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son Gary Neidige; four sisters, Maxine Evans, Shirley Tewell, Patty Kane and Gertrude (Boonie) Jones; two brothers, Herold Neidige and Charles Neidige.
Funeral services will be Monday, Aug. 26, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Ed Lee Mortuary Downtown Chapel, with Bishop Pete Aldrich officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the same day. Military graveside rites by the Washington American Legion and VFW will be at St. John Cemetery.
