Peter James "Jim" Daily, of Sunman, was born Oct. 22, 1962, in Jasper, the son of Daniel R. and Kathleen M. Conway Daily. He served his country with the Army National Guard for 25 years and worked for Enhanced Telecommunications for 18 years. Jim enjoyed camping, gardening, road trips, and loved watching his grandchildren play. At the age of 54, after a hard-fought battle with cancer, he passed away at his residence, surrounded by loved ones.
Those surviving who will cherish Jim's memory include his daughters, Erika Daily (Ross Robertson) of Greensburg, Alysha (Dustin) Scudder of Versailles, and Josie Daily of Batesville; four grandchildren, Dustin Scudder Jr., Gavin Scudder, Olivianah Robertson and Kennedie Robertson; three sisters, Julia (Rex) Thomas of Plainville, Maureen (Mark) Strange of Washington, and Margaret Daily of Washington; two brothers, Pat Daily of Chicago, and Kevin (Anna) Daily of Lawrenceburg; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He is also survived by his former wife, Mindy Daily of Batesville; her parents, Bertie and Larry Bauman of Sunman; as well as her five brothers and sisters. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a niece, Kristen Kellar.
Friends may visit with the family Tuesday, June 27, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 107 Vine St., Sunman. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 2 p.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery.
