Linda L. Troutman, 74, of Montgomery, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord, surrounded by her family on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, at 11:47 p.m. at her residence.
She was born May 30, 1943, in Washington, to Fred and Helen (Craney) Colvin. She graduated from Montgomery High School in 1961 and St. Mary School of Nursing in Evansville in 1964. She had worked for a short time as the school nurse for Montgomery High School and as a RN for 42 years at Daviess Community Hospital, retiring in 2007. She had also worked part-time as a PRN for three years following retirement and was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. Linda was a member of the AORN, Association of periOperative Registered Nurses. She loved crocheting, cooking, hummingbirds, gardening, playing cards and spending time with family.
She is survived by one son, Stephen (Stephanie) Troutman of Washington; one daughter, Michelle (Mike) Pannell of Montgomery; three granddaughters, Shelby McConnell of Loogootee, Chelsea Smith of Indianapolis and Ashley Troutman of Indianapolis; four stepgrandchildren, Meagan Pannell of Terre Haute, Greg Pannell of Mitchell, Tyler Curry of Pennsylvania and Rachel Curry of Vincennes; one great-great-grandchild, Stanley McConnell; four stepgreat-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Curry, Arreanna Friede and Zoey Friede, Kalie Curry-Gomez; one brother, Don (Wanda) Colvin of Montgomery; and special nephew, Dick (Kathy) Grissom of Washington.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald Troutman on Sept. 6, 2008, whom she married Nov. 28, 1964; and granddaughter Megan Nichole Smith.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter Catholic Church, with Rev. James Koressel officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at St. Peter Catholic Church, with a Nursing Honor Guard service being held at 6:30 p.m.
