Julia Correne Huffman, 92, of Bloomington and formerly of Bloomfield, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at the Brown County Health and Living Community in Nashville, Indiana.
Born Jan. 26, 1925, in Greene County, she was the daughter of Frank and Forrest (Williams) Holtsclaw.
Correne was retired from Westinghouse in Bloomington, she loved to cook, work in the yard, travel and help others out.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Rebecca Strauser; granddaughter Dianna Lyn May; grandsons Joseph (Kristie) Strauser and Nicholas (Elizabeth) Strauser; seven great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Max Lee Holtsclaw and Loren Ray (Susan) Holtsclaw; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by a son, Franklin DeWayne Strauser; a granddaughter, Beth Ann Martin; her first husband, Ralph "Pete" Taylor; second husband Gilbert Huffman; sisters Dorothy Marie Parkes and Mary Louise Hall; and one brother, Wayne Dale Holtsclaw.
Friends may call Monday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
