Judith Ruth Cochran, 90, of The Villages, Florida, passed away surrounded by family and friends June 13, 2017. Ruth was a long-time resident of Crane and moved to Florida in 2000. Born in Isabel, Illinois, to the late Grover and Hazel (Jones) Ogden, she later married the late George B. Cochran on July 19, 1945. She was employed by Crane Elementary School and subsequently retired from the Naval Weapons Support Center after working there 20 years. She was a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed bowling, traveling, watching Orlando Magic and Indiana University basketball games, and loved being with family and friends.
She is survived by her sons, George W. (Mary) Cochran and Rod (Pat) Cochran, both of The Villages; five grandchildren, Brian (Karen) Cochran of The Hague, Netherlands, Corey Cochran of Dallas, Texas, Wayne (Kerstin) Cochran of Tampa, Florida, Cara (Jaimon) Farchione of Tampa, and Kimberly (Geoff) Hoesch of Alexandria, Virginia; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by her sister Irene Wright of Brocton, Illinois, and brother David Ogden of Indian Harbor Beach, Florida. She is preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Goodwill Cemetery.
