Joyce Cullen Joyce Cullen, 86, of Washington, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018, while surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born June 6, 1932, to the late Amon Earl Hinton and Naomi Hinton (nee Blanks).
Joyce attended school in Madisonville, Kentucky, and soon after graduating was wed to the love of her life, Linden R. Cullen. Joyce and Linden spent 68 years in marital bliss and Joyce will always be his "Smokin' Hot Blue-Eyed Blonde."
Joyce was a homemaker, worked in real estate, and was a receptionist for Cullen Medical for nearly 20 years. Joyce was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Washington and a previous member of the Washington Avenue Baptist Church of Evansville, where her husband was the minister of education for 21 years.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Linden Cullen; children Dr. Stephen Cullen (Sharon), Charlotte Hatfield, and Dr. Timothy Cullen (Julia); grandchildren Chadwick Cole, Lindsay Levisay, Jennifer Boyd (Greg), Dr. Amy Archer (Aaron), and Daniel Cullen; and 11 great-grandchildren. The family was also blessed with nine caregivers that were all a divine blessing, Judith Meade, Jackie Buhr, Linda Pickett, Peggy Aldridge, Angie Truelove, Barbara and Jenise Wittmer, Shannan Carrico and Shianna Yarrito. Joyce is also preceded in death by her grandson, Drew Cole; a sister and a brother.
Visitation will be Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Gill Funeral Home, 308 E. Walnut St., Washington, IN 47501, and also Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018, from 1 p.m. to the time of the service at 2 p.m., also at the funeral home, with Rev. Timothy Baxter presiding. Entombment will follow at Sugarland Memory Gardens.
