James H. Cole, 89, of Vincennes, passed away at 11:45 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Gentlecare Nursing Home.
He was born May 1, 1928, in Gibson County, Indiana, to Delmond and Edna (Katterjohn) Cole.
Jim retired as general mananger of T.A. Brouillette & Son. An active member of St. John's United Church of Christ, he also served in the National Guard. Jim was a Lincoln High School graduate and belonged to the Kiwanis Club, Masonic Lodge #1, Hadi Shrine Temple, and the Scottish Rite. In his spare time Jim loved to fish.
Surviving are his wife, Kathryn (Meyer) Cole, whom he married January 25, 1953; three children, Ann (David) Blemker of Washington, Jay (Karen) Cole of Vincennes, and C. Timothy (Lori) Cole of Yadkinville, North Carolina; a sister, Marilyn Gladish of Jasper; and his grandchildren, Katie Norris, Mary Marte, Andria Williams, Jennifer Cole, Stephen Cole, and Elizabeth Cole.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and a sister, Rosalee Schuckman.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home, with Rev. George Ford officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be noon until the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. John's United Church of Christ or the Salvation Army.
