Jack J. Purdue
He was born Dec. 28, 1936, in Washington, to Lowell and Mary (Way) Purdue. He attended Washington High School and retired from ACME Metal in Jasper. He enjoyed working with his brother, Danny Purdue, doing carpenter work, fishing, mushroom hunting and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Mae (Thomas) Radcliffe of Washington; son Jack Joe (Melody) Purdue of Washington; brothers Danny (Kathy) Purdue, Larry Purdue, Robert (Lydia) Purdue and Frank (Joan) Purdue, all of Washington; six grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
His wife, Mary Eleanor Purdue, whom he married Oct. 3, 1959, preceded him in death on Nov. 28, 2013. Also deceased are his parents; son Randy Ray Purdue; daughter Miranda Kay Purdue; and brother Bill Purdue.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Ed Lee Mortuary North Chapel, 620 E. Viola Ave., with Pastor Cameron Gladish officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ed Lee Mortuary North Chapel and Friday from 9:30 a.m. till service time.
