Irene B. Summers, 94, formerly of Washington, died Saturday at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville.
She was born Jan. 3, 1923, in Montgomery, to Cal C. and Laura (Chestnut) Morgan.
She had worked in food service at Barr-Reeve Community Schools for 26 years. She was a member of Montgomery Christian Church, Rebekah Lodge since 1941, and volunteered with R.S.V.P. and the Red Cross at the hospital.
She is survived by a son, Allen Summers of Evansville; a granddaughter, Lisa (Roberto) Vega of Evansville; a sister, Ilene Evermand of Dubois; and great-grandchildren Gabriella Vega-Boswell and Roberto "Jahir" Vega.
Her husband, Walter Summers, preceded her in death on Jan. 10, 1980. Also deceased are a daughter, Versa Boswell; two sisters, LaVada and Ruth Morgan; and four brothers, Tom, Everett, Russell and Joe Morgan.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Poindexter-McClure Funeral Home, Washington Chapel, with Bro. Mike Francis officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery.
Visitation is from 2 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
