Harold J. Boes, 78, of Princeton, passed away Wednesday at Gibson General Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit in Princeton. He was born Sept. 8, 1938, in Brazil, Indiana. He was retired from Orkin Pest Control, where he worked for many years. He also served in the Army National Guard from 1959-1964.
He is survived by his eight children, Randy Boes of Princeton, Kim Traylor (Paul) of Washington, Shannon Harvey (David) of Fort Branch, Matt Boes (Kim) of Evansville, Anthony Boes (Bree) of Jefferson City, Missouri, Candy Hedge (Greg) of Patoka, Jerry Boes (Jennifer) and John Boes (Kelly), both of Haubstadt; 22 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother Donald Boes of Washington; and three sisters, Phyllis Chesnut of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Jane Goodwin and Barbara Killion, both of Washington.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jonas Boes; mother Mary Margaret (Burkhardt) Boes Kalanquin; his first wife, Janet Boes; his second wife wife, Beverly Boes; son Jeff Boes; and a brother, Francis Kalanquin.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, officiated by Pastor Anthony Boes. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. until service time on Sunday at the Colvin Funeral Home.
