Grant Boy Olds, 63, of Avon, Indiana, formerly of Richland, Montgomery, and Newburgh, passed away on July 12, 2017.

Grant is survived by his wife, Cynthia 'Cindy' (Stoops) Olds, and their children, James 'Chris' Olds (Meghan) and Courtney Emerson (Trevor); grandchildren Austin Olds, Addison Olds and Joelle Emerson; sisters, Ginger Wetzel (Keith), Jeanne Alverson (Robert), and Tenna Watts (Frank); mother-in-law Barbara Stoops; brothers-in-law, Christopher Stoops (Pamela) and Mark Stoops (Avrea) and sister-in-law Beth McNulty (Brian); as well as many beloved nephews, nieces, cousins, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by parents, Orville 'Boy' and Joyce Olds, sons Andrew Olds and Lee Olds, grandson Matthew Olds, brother Mark Olds, sister Monna Childers, brother-in-law Jim Childers, father-in-law Royce Stoops and sister-in-law Pamela Nolan.

Grant was born on August 13, 1953, in Reno, Nevada. He graduated from South Spencer High in 1971, attended Western Kentucky University where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, and later received a Bachelors of Science degree in Marketing from Indiana State University (Evansville) in 1978. He went on to have a very successful 35 year career as an Agricultural Lender. He married Cindy Stoops on December 29, 1973, and they spent 43 years of wedded bliss together. Grant and Cindy moved to the Montgomery Indiana area in the early 90s where they raised their children and he served on the Barr-Reeve School Board, was a member of the Montgomery Ruritan Club and and was honored to receive the Sagamore of the Wabash Award. He was also a member of the American Legion and Moose Lodge, enjoyed music, was a dedicated fan of Indiana University basketball, Notre Dame football, and the St. Louis Cardinals, was a season ticket holder of the Indianapolis Colts, and attended the Indianapolis 500 each year with family and friends. Grant's favorite past time was being a member of the Austin Olds Racing pit crew and watching his grandson race go karts across the country.

An open house Celebration of Life will be held at The Goose Pond Lodge in Linton, Indiana, on August 5, 2017, from 1:00pm - 5:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Barr-Reeve Scholarship Foundation and American Brain Tumor Association
