I’ll always remember my grandfather. He was such a kind man and I have many wonderful memories of him. I remember always getting treats from him, like homemade spice cake with peanut butter frosting. I remember him cooking in the kitchen for my family when we were in town visiting, making Coney dogs or stuffed peppers. “Sneaking” cookies from the cookie jar, even though he knew perfectly well what we were doing, and would then ask us to bring him one. I remember best of all his garden out back. I used to love going out while he was tending it. He would tell me about what veggies he had planted where and when he would harvest them. Best of all, he would let me pick as many blackberries ...as I wanted, and it was from his garden that I ate my first tomato like an apple; it was delicious! He was such a sweet, kind, and loving person, and I will miss him so very much.Read more
