Estell Ray McClure, 89, of Terre Haute, passed away Thursday at Westminister Rehab Center.
Born Oct. 9, 1927, in Terre Haute, he was the son of Cecil and Jessie (Persinger) McClure.
He had served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a minister in the Church of the Nazarene from 1957 to 2000, when he retired. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and had pastored at Georgetown Nazarene, Washington Nazarene, Odon Nazarene, Evansville Grace Nazarene, Tell City Nazarene, Terre Haute Eastside Nazarene, Terre Haute Southside Nazarene, Freedom Nazarene, Carbon Nazarene and Bloomfield Nazarene.
He is survived by two sons, Dennis R. (Diane) McClure of Washington, and J. Mark McClure of Terre Haute; two daughters, Vivian E. (Darrell) Breeden of Bloomington, and Kathy J. (Jim Ray) Malone of Odon; adopted daughter, Sherry Reed of Terre Haute; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
His wife, Joan (Furrer) McClure, whom he married June 22, 1946, preceded him in death on Jan. 19, 2015. One granddaughter; his parents; four sisters; and two brothers are also deceased.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Southside Church of the Nazarene in Terre Haute, with Revs. Eddie Hayes and Chris Wilbur officiating. Burial will be in Hull Cemetery.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.
