Earl  Colvin

Earl J. Colvin, 102, went home to be with the Lord at 2:25 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2019. He was born April 28, 1917, in Corning, Indiana, to Patrick and Mary (Riney) Colvin. He married Doris (Chestnut) Colvin on June 28, 1941.
Earl was an Army veteran of World War II and had retired as a supply clerk from the B & O Railroad. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion and VFW. He was an avid gardener and loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Earl is survived by his children Mary Alice (Jim) McDonald of Haubstadt, Indiana, Brenda McDonald of Brownsburg, and Alan (Brenda) Colvin of Washington. There are nine grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. Earl's sister, Louise (Dan) O'Conner of Greenfield survives also.
Earl is preceded in death by his wife, Doris (Chestnut) Colvin, who passed away March 8, 2005; brothers Jim Colvin, Bernard Colvin, Jerry Colvin, Raymond Colvin and Lawrence Colvin; sisters Katherine Spaulding, Josie Wade, Rosemary Raymann, Clara Shedelbower, Bernadette Craney and Dorothy O'Connor; and son-in-law George McDonald.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2019, at the Ed Lee Mortuary North Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, with Rev. Paul Ferguson as celebrant. Burial will follow at the St. John Cemetery, with military graveside service by the Washington American Legion and VFW.
