David Preston Summers of Albany, New Yoyk, passed away March 9. He was born June 11, 1960, to James Hugh and Lela (Riester) Summers in Washington.
He was a lifelong professional painter, painting on Tyndall Air Force Base, Panama City, Florida, the Naval Air Station and the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, Florida, and Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He loved camping and fishing and was considered by many to be a Good Ole Boy!
Dave is preceded in death by his father, Hugh Summers.
He is survived by his mother, Lela Summers of Petersburg; one son, Dustin Summers of Light House Point, Florida; four grandchildren, Peyton, Jacoby, Andyn and Elijah; one sister and three brothers, Barbara (Summers) Silversmith of Farmington, New Mexico, Philip Summers of Petersburg, Mike Summers of Raleigh, North Carolina, and John Summers of Washington.
A memorial service will be held at The Church on The Way, 700 W. Van Trees St., Saturday 1 p.m. There will be a fellowship following the service for all family and friends.
