David Ray Meade, 65, of Delray Beach, Florida, passed away Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, at his residence in Anderson, South Carolina.
He was born Sept. 20, 1953, in Washington, to Arthur Ray and Juanita (Gootee) Meade.
Preceding him in death are his wife, Carol Cameron "CC" Meade, in 2016; and his father, Arthur Ray Meade.
David grew up in the Glendale area and was a 1971 graduate of Washington High School and a graduate of Vincennes University with a degree in mechanical engineering. David served as vice president of Unaflex in Florida for many years and now known as Unaflex Kadant in Anderson, South Carolina. He had worked in many states including Michigan, Tennessee, Ohio, Kentucky and Texas.
Those surviving who will cherish David's memory include his mother, Juanita Meade of Washington; his children, Rachelle Davis and her husband Denny of Cincinnati, Ohio; his son, Jackson Ray Meade of Delray Beach; his sisters, Marilyn Meade and her husband Leon of Delray Beach, and Donna Brandenburg of Washington; a granddaughter, Celine Davis; a niece and nephew, Abby Cornelius and her husband Wess of Plainville, and Brian Theroff and his wife Karly of Chicago; along with many loving cousins, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 2020 State St., Washington, Indiana. Burial will follow in the East Union Cemetery in Glendale. Friends may visit with David's family from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home.
