David R. Hugunin, 65, of Linton, passed away Sunday in Indianapolis. He was born in Linton on Nov. 21, 1950, the son of James H. and Genevia (Harp) Hugunin.
David retired from Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane after 42 years. He was a member of the SAL Post 22 in Linton, Men's Auxiliary of VFW in Linton, Moose Lodge in Linton, and BPO Elks Lodge in Linton. He was also a member of the NRA and AFGE union. He graduated from North Daviess High School in 1969.
He is survived by his siblings, James D. Hugunin of Indianapolis, John Hugunin of Linton, Martha Jane Bowers of Linton, Kelly Hugunin of Clayton, and Allen D. Hugunin of Shelburn; two stepdaughters, Christi Husky and Brenda Campbell; aunts Mae Stuffle of Loogootee and Helen Boling of Bloomfield; and several stepgrandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
David is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Nancy (O'Neill) Hugunin.
Funeral service will be held at Welch and Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 1 p.m. Thursday, with Pastor Mike Strawn officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
