Betty J. (Buedel)'s Story
Betty J. (Buedel) Grimm, 83, of Avon, passed away Friday, at Countryside Meadows. She was born Feb. 16, 1933, in Evansville, to the late Charles Raymond and Helen Louise (Linton) Buedel.
She worked at Simpson UMC Clothes Closet for many years and volunteered at Deaconess Hospital. Betty enjoyed playing cards with friends, attending church services and USI basketball games, and dining out with her many friends and family members. She had many hobbies including sewing, crocheting, knitting and tole painting.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Robert Frederick Grimm; and brother Ronald Buedel.
She is survived by her son, Anthony P. (Annie) Grimm of Angeles City, Philippines; daughter Rebecca L. Grimm (Randall) Slavens of Coatesville; granddaughters Robyn K. Slavens (Kevin) Davidson of Avon and Antonnette M. Grimm (Calvin) Miranda of England; grandsons Ryan K. (Emily) Slavens of Logansport and Andrew Robert Grimm of Germany; brother Charles A. (Wanda) Buedel of Evansville; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews; and a whole lot of friends.
Funeral services will be held 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Pastor Dennis Adams, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
