Aaron's Story

Aaron Daniel Martin, 28, of Bennington, Indiana, entered this life on Dec. 24, 1988, in Knox County, the loving son of David Martin and Dara D. (Meyers) Swanson. He was raised in Washington and Lawrenceburg, Indiana, and attended Washington High School. Aaron was employed for Belterra Casino and Resort in Florence, Indiana, where he was a cook for the Stadium Bar and Grill for one year. He was a former employee for Robbie Cunningham in Markland, Indiana, for two years. Aaron was baptized at the New Hope Christian Church in Washington. He was extremely artistic and enjoyed music, writing poems, pug dogs and elephants. Aaron was a loving father, son, brother, grandson, uncle, cousin and will be dearly missed by his loving family and abundance of friends. Aaron was an organ donor and gave the ultimate gift by donating his organs so others may benefit from his gift. Aaron passed away at 6:54 p.m., Thursday, July 13, 2017, at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison.
Aaron will be deeply missed by his mother and stepfather, Dara D. (Meyers) and Dana Swanson of Bennington; his father and stepmother, David and Andrea Martin of Washington; his son, Kennedy Johnson of Vevay; his brothers, Sam Martin and his companion Cierra Brettnacher of Louisville, Kentucky, and Levi Martin and his companion Kayla Nevils of Louisville; his stepsister, Angela Swanson and her companion Dave Conway of Indianapolis; his stepbrother, Clint Swanson and his companion Nora Yazell of Bedford; his paternal step-grandmother, Dixie Miller of Washington; his maternal stepgrandmother, Daisy Swanson of Bennington; his nephew, Tristan Martin of Honolulu, Hawaii; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Lawrence E. Meyers; his maternal grandmother and stepgrandfather, Treva (Raney) and Donald Ragle; his paternal grandparents, Samuel and Edna Martin; his maternal stepgrandfather, Carroll "Buddy" Swanson; and his paternal stepgrandfather, Jim Miller.
Friends may call 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at the Haskell and Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry St., Vevay, IN 47043.
